on the #1 stage for High School Football
Founded in 2005 by former Ohio State quarterback and current Emmy-Award winning ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit, the Kirk Herbstreit Ohio vs. USA Challenge (formally known) celebrated Ohio football's pride by featuring perennial state high school champions matched-up with gridiron powerhouses from around the country. With Paul Brown and Fawcett Stadiums as its backdrop, the event quickly garnered national attention as the nation's premier high school football kickoff over Labor Day weekend.
For the past six years, the annual event has seen epic battles and superior athleticism from overtime showdowns to record breaking performances. In 2008, the event would expand to the mighty football state of Texas doubling the number of participating teams, attendance and national audience.
Now entering its seventh year, the Kirk Herbstreit National Kickoff Classic looks to continue its tradition as nation's #1 high school football event featuring both intra-state and out-of-state match-ups. Ohio Stadium, home of the Ohio State Buckeyes, and Cowboys Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, will be center stage for these teams as they take the field in front of a national television audience with state pride on the line.
